Having Pipe Problems?

Pipes can break for three different reasons:
You should always have a grid of pipes within your walls and floors. Here are a few of the most common ways a pipe can burst and what you can do to prevent it from happening.
- One thing can be frozen pipes. In the winter, homeowners need to be careful when using their pipes. Extremely cold weather can cause your pipes to freeze. The ice in the pipes can take up more volume than water. When the water within the pipe freezes, it expands and increases pressure. This pressure can literally make the pipe burst. You can help prevent this from happening, try to keep the water in your pipes running. This will stop the water from freezing. Remember to keep your house warm and never let it go below freezing while you are on vacation or out of the house. You can always insulate exposed water pipes with foam.
- Second reason can be rusty pipes. Pipes are made to last a long time, but the pipes are not invincible. Over time, pipes wear out and rust. When this happens, a pipe break is more likely to break due because the pipes are too vulnerable. If you think your pipes are old, inspect them or call a professional to help you out. Fix a broken pipe as soon as possible to avoid any type of flooding or water damage.
- A third reason for your pipes to break are unsecured pipes. When the pipes in your home can move around and cling, this means that they are not secured. Joints in the pipes can weaken, which makes it easier for pressure to find a way out of the pipes and this can create a leak or burst. When hearing your pipes make noise, fix, and secure the weakened pipe. To help a pipe from breaking, you should take precautions. When you think something is wrong with your pipes, fix them as soon as you can.
